— CHINA DOLL 程潇

“I am what I am. I would tell you what you want to know if I could, for you have been kind to me. But I am a cat, and no cat anywhere ever gave anyone a straight answer.”
― Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn

Cheng Xiao was born and raised in Shenzhen, China to a middle class Chinese family. From the age of 3, it was always Xiao's dream to be a Traditional Chinese Dancer, and perform on stage, something that her mother was very supportive of. After enrolling in a martial arts and dance academy, Xiao would begin her 10 year journey to stardom.

Training almost every day into the long nights, Cheng Xiao trained in gymnastics, practical dance, martial arts, and ballet. Through this, she competed with different dance groups, and was scouted many times. It wasn't until she was 15 years old, and scouted for Yuehua Ent., a major entertainment company in China, that she agreed to sign a contract. Due to her doll like appearance, dancing skills, and flexibility, in a matter of months she was signed to a South Korean Entertainment company, Starship, with the intention of joining the first ever Korean Chinese Girl Group that would perform both in Korea and China.

Shipped off to South Korea without knowing the language or having any family or friends, Xiao embarked on the most gruesome part of becoming an idol. Training with Starship for 2 years, taking Korean Lessons, and enduring culture shock all paid off, because on February 25, 2016 she debuted as 1 of 12 members of the girl group WJSN, Cosmic Girls.

During promotions, Xiao was quickly swept up in the limelight getting noticed for her looks, and flexibility. That shot her to fame, landing many CF's, and contracts for shows, and products. In 2018, Xiao was cast as a Dance Mentor in the reality survival show, Idol Producer, in China. From about that time, she began her solo promotions in China.

Currently, her activity in WSJN have come to a halt as she finishes filming her latest drama, and tv show in China.
